Fate/EXTELLA: Last Encore Anime Announced for 2018

Based on Fate/EXTRA Game, to Stream on Crunchyroll

Anime Hakuno Kishinami finds himself in the midst of a Holy Grail war with no memories of.

The official website for the Fate/EXTELLA: Last Encore anime announced on Friday that the anime will premiere in Japan in April 2018. The anime will stream exclusively on Crunchyroll. The website also began streaming a promotional video for the anime.

The anime will feature a returning cast from the Fate/EXTELLA game, including:

  • Rie Takahashi as Hakuno Kishinami
  • Sakura Tange as Saber
  • Mai Kadowaki as Archer
  • Kana Ueda as Caster
  • Ayako Kawasumi as Berserker
  • Takahiro Sakurai as Gilgamesh
  • Takahiro Mizushima as Lu Bu

Shinichirou Ueda (Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works, Tsukihime, Lord El-Melloi II Case Files: Rail Zeppelin Grace note) is directing the anime at Shaft. Hikaru Kondo (Lord El-Melloi II Case Files: Rail Zeppelin Grace note, Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai) is in charge of the series scripts. Yuka Hamada (Hakumei and Mikochi, Sound! Euphonium) is designing the characters. Tohru Kishida (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works) is composing the music. Aniplex is producing the anime.

The anime will adapt the Fate/EXTELLA: Link game, which adds a new story route to the Fate/EXTELLA game. The game shipped for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in Japan on June 29. Marvelous Games USA released the game for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in North America and Europe on November 14.

The Fate/EXTELLA game is a spin-off of the Fate/stay night visual novel and anime franchise. The game was released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and PC in Japan in November 2016. XSEED Games released the game for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in North America and Europe in March 2017.
