The Dallas Cowboys have reunited with running back Ezekiel Elliott after agreeing to terms on a contract, according to NFL Networks. The deal comes after Elliott spent the past year as a free agent following his release by the Cowboys.

Elliott, a three-time Pro Bowler and two-time rushing champion, returns to Dallas after a successful stint with the Cowboys. He rushed for over 1,000 yards in each of his first six seasons with the team and led the NFL in rushing during the 2016 and 2018 seasons.

The Cowboys released Elliott last year to clear cap space, but they have been rumored to be interested in reuniting with him all offseason. Elliott's return gives the Cowboys a significant boost to their offense, which struggled last season without a true workhorse running back.
