Dead Rising Remake News: Frank's Voice Actor Change and More
Goodbye, TJ Rotolo?
For weeks, fans have been speculating about a Dead Rising remaster. Now, Capcom has confirmed that it's happening and given us a few more details.
Frank West Gets a New Voice
One of the biggest changes in the remaster is the voice of Frank West. TJ Rotolo, who voiced West in the original game, has been replaced by a new actor, Bryce Papenbrook.
This is sure to be a controversial change, as Rotolo's performance is iconic among Dead Rising fans. However, Papenbrook is a talented voice actor with a long list of credits to his name, so he could bring something new and exciting to the role.
Why the Change?
Capcom has not officially stated why they decided to replace Rotolo.
It's possible that they felt Rotolo's voice was too old or dated for the remaster. Papenbrook is a younger actor, so he could give West a more youthful and energetic sound.
Another possibility is that Rotolo was simply unavailable to reprise his role. He has been very busy in recent years, so it's possible that he didn't have the time to commit to the Dead Rising remaster.
Other Changes in the Remaster
In addition to the new voice actor, the Dead Rising remaster will also feature a number of other changes, including:
- Improved graphics and performance
- New content, including a new mode called "Infinite Mode"
- All of the DLC from the original game
The Dead Rising remaster is scheduled to be released in 2023 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
